Liberum is pleased to announce that it is officially Carbon Neutral for 2020, using the Quality Assurance Standard (QAS) for Carbon Offsetting via Clear.
Liberum recognises the risk that climate change has to the world and the economy and the role that we all must play in tackling climate change. We continue to work towards reducing our greenhouse gas emissions in alignment with a 1.5C decarbonisation pathway. As part of a multi-faceted response to climate change, we have used carbon offsetting via Clear to ensure that we are carbon neutral for 2020 and will continue to do that in the future.
We recognise that this is only part of a well-rounded strategy to address climate-related risks. In the medium term, we aim to more comprehensively measure our scope 3 emissions and reduce our gross emissions over time. Because 100% of the electricity we use in our London offices is already renewable and our building was one of the first LEED certified buildings in the City of London, our main target is to reduce emissions from heating and scope 3 emissions from the use of transport for business purposes and commuting to and from work. To do this, we have introduced an internal measurement of our business related travel and encourage the use of more energy efficient modes of transportation like trains instead of taxis or cars.
